I start unlocking my front door, and I’m thinking, how much did I spend? Did he buy something? There is no way.
My day was so busy that I didn’t even have a chance to open it. My husband opens it after Jelly Belly is asleep. I think he was excited, he was wishing I bought him something. As I am finishing up cleaning the kitchen, I hear him say:
“It’s from Cristina, it’s another book for Bella. That is so nice.”
I stop what I am doing. I feel like crying. My husband looks at me weird. He doesn’t understand how my friend completed this mama’s day. Do you see that smile? Books are the best present Jelly Belly could get (besides c-a-n-d-y).
My friend left Arizona a few years ago. She is millions of miles away. She is a world traveler currently teaching in Spain. She is living her dream. We have different lives but yet she continues to support me. I support her. We respect each other’s lives and the choices we have made. Yes, we’ve had our ups and downs like every friendship. Yes, our friendship has changed throughout the years. But she is still here and always will be. Half way across the world, she remembers Isabella's birthday and spoils her for Christmas. When she visits, she makes an effort to get to know my daughter. And this year, she has unexpectedly surprised all of us with books for Valentine’s Day and now Easter.
True friendship....Your turn!

Hi, Angelica! Thanks for visiting Sugar Tails. I love your Friendship Friday -- what a terrific idea and what a sweet friend you have.
I have a beautiful friend that I celebrated recently on my blog because she inspires me. She lost her daughter over a year ago, and I'm amazed at her strength. If you're interested in reading it, you can find it here: http://sugartails-glowingirl.blogspot.com/2010/03/through-sorrow-she-sings.html
On another note, I love the name of your blog, and your little girl is precious!
