Easter Aftermath

A sick mama is not as bad as having a sick kiddo, but it is definitely not fun! A stomach bug has gotten the best of me. It started Friday, the night before our big Easter Egg Hunt party. I've had the chills, nausea, horrible headache, stomach pain. I will spare you the details. I don't know how I managed to survive our event in the backyard of our house and smile when I really felt like puking. I don't know how I got up the next day and made the 10 o'clock Easter mass, but I did. Sometimes motherhood makes you find that last little drop of strength we all have.

I am still feeling sick today and I am feeling overwhelmed. I am getting behind on everything. I stayed home from work today. Not such a great thing for a part-timer without sick time who only works twice a week. I am feeling a bit disconnected from Jelly Belly. Last week, I will admit that this blog and many others consumed a lot of my free time. Then, there was the prepping for our event. Now my sickness has caused Daddy to pick up a lot of the daily routine. She keeps asking when I will get better, then quickly followed with a very whiny "My tummy hurts too". I loved overhearing Daddy tell her the story of the little boy who cried wolf today.

My crackers and Gatorade gave me enough energy to sit down and let her paint. I sat next to her and quietly observed; a very hard thing to do for the control freak and perfectionist in me.

I told Miss M the story of the boy who cried wolf this morning at breakfast! So sorry to hear about your stomach bug. You are a super star for still hosting your egg hunt event even though you felt lousy.
